The Wetlands Garden is a series of constructed wetlands built in 2016 under the leadership of Dr. Andrea Ludwig. The wetlands serve to catch runoff and slow water movement into the Tennessee River. Native plants were planted in around the three ponds of varying depths to provide a sustainable ecosystem that filters water and provides habitat for vertebrate and invertebrate wildlife. The area serves a great learning tool for students of all ages.
