Maria’s Woodland Garden

Maria’s Woodland Garden is named in honor of Maria Compere a local environmental stewardship and beautification activist, who spearheaded the effort to plant tens of  thousands of daffodils along Pellissippi Parkway. She founded the Knoxville Green Association and upon her passing the association dedicated the woodland garden in her memory. Along with daffodils, significant plants include native azaleas, hellebores, camellia, ginger, ferns, hydrangea, buckeye, inkberry, and fothergilla.
