Be on the lookout for mosquitoes! With all of the rain we are having, these pesky insects are sure to be in abundance. Keep plant saucers, buckets, trash cans and children’s toys poured out. Make sure your gutters are draining properly, and change the water in birdbaths every 3 to 4 days. In areas where standing water cannot be avoided, use environmentally friendly mosquito dunks. These dunks are made from a naturally occurring bacterium called Bti (Bacillus thruingiensis israelensis). Dunks can be purchased at nurseries and most home improvement stores.
