UT Gardens, Knoxville, is open to the public seven days a week from sunrise to sunset. Admission is free, although entry fees may apply during special events.

To get to the UT Gardens in Knoxville, from I-40 take Exit 386B onto Highway 129 (Alcoa Highway toward McGhee-Tyson Airport). From Highway 129, take exit for Highway 158 (Neyland Drive). Turn left at the end of the exit ramp. Turn left onto Joe Johnson Drive, and right at the next light onto Chapman Drive. Visitor parking is directly across from the entrance to the UT Gardens, and is marked with signs for “2-Hr Visitor Parking.”

Etiquette and Policies

  • Do not pick, cut, or remove any plant materials or containers.
  • Place trash in waste containers.
  • Keep pets on a leash.
  • Clean up after pets.
  • Bicycling and skating are prohibited.

Visitor Parking

Parking is limited during the week (Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.). Ten parking spaces are reserved for UT Gardens, Knoxville, visitors. They are located in the southeast corner of the parking lot, just opposite the plaza. Other spaces in that lot are for permit-holders only, and you will be subject to ticketing if you park in them. If no reserved visitor parking spaces a available, call the UTIA General Services Office at 865-974-7159.

Professional Photography Policy

The UT Gardens, Knoxville, is proud to provide an attractive venue and colorful setting that has become a popular location for photography in East Tennessee. Considerable materials and labor are required to maintain the Gardens to the high standard that has attracted so many professional photographers to use the Gardens in their work.
