The UT Gardens in Knoxville and Jackson are open 7 days a week from sunrise to sunset. Admission is free to the public


Garden Etiquette


  • Do not pick, cut or remove any plant materials or containers
  • Place trash in waste containers
  • Keep pets on a leash
  • Clean up after pets
  • Bicycling and skating are prohibited

Garden Tours and Field Trips


The UT Gardens offer scheduled tours of the gardens at various times throughout the year. In addition, we are happy to accommodate garden clubs or schools that wish to arrange for a special tour.

Directions to the UT Gardens


To get to the UT Gardens in Knoxville, from I-40 take Exit 386B onto Hwy 129 (Alcoa Hwy toward the Airport). From Hwy 129 take exit for Hwy 158 (Neyland Drive). Turn left at end of exit ramp. Turn left onto Joe Johnson Drive, and right at next light onto Chapman Drive. Visitor parking is directly across from the entrance to the UT Gardens, and is marked with signs for "2-Hr Visitor Parking."

To get to the UT Gardens in Jackson take Airways Boulevard (Hwy 70) west from Hwy 45 Bypass. Turn right into the West Tennessee Research and Education Center.
