This site was created to support Ornamental Horticulture and Landscape Design 220 - Basic Landscape Plants, and was made possible through a 2001 Teaching With Technology Grant from the University of Tennessee Innovative Technology Center.

Objectives

  1. To enhance the learning and retention of the key identification criteria, common names, and botanical nomenclature for basic landscape trees and shrubs used in the East Tennessee area
  2. To encourage self-directed learning
  3. To allow students to utilize plant identification characteristics that are not present when they are enrolled in the class due to seasonal changes
